These days the pressure of releasing music in the right format, with the right strategy, the right backing are all factors that obstruct the process of being an artist.
Nonetheless when inspiration strikes sometimes just expressing is the answer. Jazz is a root of influence for me, so when “Cortex - Huit Octobre 1971” came on my playlist the other day, knowing its history of being sampled by MF Doom, I had to loop it and speak from the heart. I was inspired by recent events and reflection of what some of us are subject to in our city.
